This cashback offer is available to current and new Border Bank members who meet our common‑bond membership eligibility criteria, and refinance an existing home loan during the offer period. Border Bank reserves the right to vary, extend, or withdraw this offer at any time without prior notice. To be eligible for the cashback offer applicant must:
Meet eligibility criteria below;
To be eligible for the cashback, you must meet all of the following requirements:
- Apply for a Border Bank Custom Value Home Loan or Goldrate Home Loan during the offer period.
- Meet minimum loan amount of $300,000 and have a loan-to-value ratio (LVR) of 80% or less.
- Open and maintain a Border Bank Easy Access S1 transaction account with card access.
- Complete loan settlement within 90 days of application.
- Direct their salary/wages to be credited to their Border Bank Easy Access transaction account for a minimum of three (3) consecutive salary deposits.
- Be a Border Bank member and meet the Common Bond eligibility criteria
Eligible Loan Types:
- Refinanced home loans from other financial institutions (excluding Police Bank).
- Owner-occupied or Investment, Fixed or Variable, Principal & Interest repayment only.
If you do not meet the Common Bond criteria, you are not eligible for the cashback, even if all other loan conditions are met.
This offer does not apply to:
- Interest only loans
- Construction loans or bridging loans
- Internal refinances or loan rewrites
- Any other Border Bank cashback or promotional offer
Cashback amounts
The cashback amount is based on the total approved loan amount:
- $300,000 to $499,999: $2,000 cashback
- $500,000 to $749,999: $3,000 cashback
- $750,000 or more: $4,000 cashback
How and when the cashback is paid
- Cashback payment will be made within 30 days of your third salary credit
- Cashback will be paid into a Border Bank Easy Access (S1) transaction account or a Border Bank savings account held in the same name as the loan
- If no account details are provided, Border Bank may apply the cashback directly to the home loan to reduce the outstanding balance
- The home loan must remain active at the time the cashback is paid
Important limits
- Cashback is payable once per loan that is accepted by Border Bank regardless of number of applicants or properties involved in the transaction.
- A member can only be party to this cashback offer once.
Once a qualifying loan application is accepted, no further applications involving the same borrower(s) – whether individually or jointly with others – will be eligible for cashback payments for the following 12-month period. - This Offer cannot be assigned or transferred.
- If you have previously received cashback on the same property, you are not eligible
- Where multiple loans are involved, all loans must be settled before cashback eligibility is assessed
Fraud, tax and legal information
- Border Bank may refuse, cancel or recover any cashback payment if fraud, misleading information or misrepresentation is suspected in connection with the loan application or membership eligibility
- You are solely responsible for any tax implications arising from receipt of the cashback
- Cashback is separate from and does not form part of your home loan contract
- Standard lending criteria, fees and conditions apply
- This offer is governed by Australian law
Common Bond Eligibility – Who is Eligible
- To receive the Home Loan Cashback, you must be eligible to be a Border Bank member. This is known as meeting the Common Bond requirement.
- You must meet the Common Bond criteria at the time of application.
- Border Bank may request documentation to confirm eligibility.
A. Employment based eligibility
You are eligible if you currently work, have worked, or are formally connected to organisations involved in:

- Policing, law enforcement or justice
- Border protection, immigration or national security
- Education, training or mentoring that supports policing, law enforcement or border protection
- Police associations or federations, including Police Association of NSW, Australian Federal Police Association or similar bodies
- Organisations that regulate or administer Border Bank, including APRA or ASIC
- Police Legacy organisations or organisations supporting police members or former police members
- Border Bank or Police Bank
- Any organisation with an approved business relationship with Border Bank
- This includes employees, office holders, contractors and, where applicable, students.

B. Service providers
You are eligible if you provide services to organisations that:

- Deliver security or security related services
- Are involved in law enforcement or the administration of law
- Provide community services
- Provide education, training or mentoring connected to policing, law enforcement or border protection

C. Family members
You are eligible if you are a close family member of a person who qualifies under the employment category above.
This includes:

- A spouse or de facto partner
- A child or parent
- A brother or sister
- A grandparent or grandchild
- An aunt, uncle, niece or nephew

This applies whether the relationship is by birth, marriage or partnership, including same sex partners.
D. Extended family
You are eligible if you are a close family member of a person who became a Border Bank member under the Family category above.
E. Other approved members
You may be eligible if:

- You do not fall into the categories above, but
- Border Bank has approved you as a member under its discretion (up to a limited portion of total membership)

Approval under this category is determined by Border Bank.

Lenders Mortgage Insurance (LMI) required for Loans with an LVR greater than 80%. If you decide to repay your home loan, refinance or switch to another lender within the first year, then you may be eligible for a partial refund of your LMI repayment. An early repayment may apply if you repay your loan or switch to another one before the end of your fixed term or make early or additional repayments above $9,999. Once the fixed rate period ends, the loan reverts to a variable rate loan and repayment amounts will change. Offset Account is not available on Interest Only or Fixed Rate loans.
Custom Value Home Loan is only available to Current and Retired Employees of an Australian Border Force or Police organisation uniformed or civilian.
