Lost or stolen card

There’s no need to panic about a missing card. Simply follow these steps to block it and request a new one.

Report your lost or stolen card

If you’ve lost your card or suspect it’s been stolen, the best thing you can do is report it to Border Bank. Once you notify us, we can block further transactions being made and issue you with a new one.

Reporting a lost or stolen card is easy – simply follow the steps below and we’ll take the necessary action to keep you safe.

Reporting via the App

You can report a lost or stolen card using Border Bank’s Mobile Banking App.

Here’s how:

  1. Log in to your Mobile Banking App
  2. Navigate to the ‘Cards’ section from the main menu or bottom right of the screen.
  3. Select ‘Need help with your card?’ and choose from your list of active cards.
  4. Select the appropriate option – ‘Card been stolen’ or ‘Lost your card’ – and follow the prompts.
  5. Wait to receive a confirmation email from Border Bank notifying you that we’re taking action.

Once you’ve received your confirmation email you can relax – we’ll immediately block your missing card and issue you with a replacement.

Report via phone

If you prefer, you can call to notify us about a lost or stolen card over the phone.

Here’s how:

  1. Call on 1300 705 750 from anywhere in Australia, or +61 2 8299 9534 if calling internationally.
  2. Follow the prompts to report your card as lost or stolen.

Once you’ve notified us, we’ll block your card and send you your replacement so you can get back to business as usual.

Temporarily lock your misplaced card

If you’ve just misplaced your card and you’re confident it will turn up, you can lock it using the Mobile Banking App. If you lock your card, it will also lock Apple Pay, Samsung Pay and Google Pay.

When you find your card, simply head back to the Mobile Banking App to unlock it.
